Research focus

Basal and translational studies on vascular endothelium, in particucular endothelial hyperpermeability, angiogenesis, hypoxia and inflammation and endothelial dysfunction in diabetes.

Together with Pieter Koolwijk he runs a program on neovascularization and hypoxia (Netherlands Initiative for Regenerative Medicine).
